Precautions for using thyristor:
1. Generally speaking, low-power thyristors do not need to use heat sinks, but they must be far away from heating elements, such as high-power resistors, high-power transistors, and power supply voltage transformers. For high-power thyristors, they must be installed in accordance with the requirements of the manual. Heat dissipation device and cooling device to ensure that the temperature of the thyristor during operation will not be too high and cause problems.
2. When the thyristor exceeds and short-circuits in use, it may cause overcurrent to burn the thyristor. In the face of this situation, we must take precautions. Generally speaking, you can install a fast fuse in the AC power supply. For protection, the fusing time of the fast fuse is shorter. Generally speaking, the rated current of the fuse needs to be selected by 1.5 times the rated average current of the thyristor.
3. When the AC power supply is switched on and off, overvoltage may occur in the conduction or blocking of the thyristor, causing the tube to be broken down. For overvoltage, a parallel RC absorption circuit can be used, because of the electrical The voltage at both ends cannot be changed abruptly, so as long as the RC circuit is connected between the cathode and anode of the thyristor, the instantaneous overvoltage of the power supply can be weakened, thereby protecting the thyristor. Of course, in addition to this, a varistor overvoltage protection element can also be used for voltage protection.
